The story

Paper-based reprocessing, reborn as a cloud-native platform

Medical Intelligence Systems came to us with a clear mission: revolutionise the reprocessing of surgical instruments and endoscopes. Traditional modular technology was paper-driven, error-prone and slow - and patient safety deserved better.

We built Vestige - a streamlined, cloud-based electronic traceability system that captures every tray, instrument and endoscope at every step of the journey: from the washer to the autoclave, from stores to the bedside. One scan per stage builds a complete, audit-ready record.

The result is a platform that enhances productivity, efficiency and sustainability while upholding the highest standards of patient safety - and it's live in a leading private healthcare facility.

The brief we set ourselves

Every instrument, every cycle, every hand-off - accounted for

  • qr_code_2

    Electronic traceability

Every set's journey recorded electronically, from decontamination to point of use.

  • devices

    Multi-device, cloud-native

Windows, iOS and Android with hand-off between devices - data always in sync.

  • monitoring

    Real-time insight

Integrated reporting and dashboards - every cycle becomes data you can act on.

What we engineered

A platform that runs from CSSD to bedside

Cloud infrastructure, scan technologies and clinical integrations - the engineering behind one clean scan.

cloud

Cloud-native PaaS

No physical hosting - a cloud platform with flexibility, scalability and security built in, with contingency and continuity for critical environments.

qr_code_2

Scan technology layer

GS1-compliant, linear 1D, matrix 2D and RFID - one platform that reads every label your facility already uses.

integration_instructions

Estate integrations

Reprocessing machinery, clinical and asset management systems, imaging, PAS, manual wash, dosing and bedside flush - a cohesive workflow.

devices

Cross-platform clients

Windows workstations, iOS handhelds, Android kiosks, PDAs, tablets and laptops - with seamless hand-off mid-workflow.

description

The launch

From build to Belfast: live at the Ulster Independent Clinic

On the 6th of May 2025, Vestige went live at the Ulster Independent Clinic - a leading private healthcare provider in Northern Ireland renowned for its expert consultations, treatments and surgical procedures.

The implementation gives the clinic's CSSD and clinical teams electronic traceability across their surgical instrument reprocessing - with the same platform ready to extend across endoscopy and beyond.

It's a milestone that represents a collaborative effort to push the boundaries of healthcare technology - and set new benchmarks in patient care quality.

What they said

Vestige at the Ulster Independent Clinic

verified

Patient safety, elevated

The highest standards of traceability in surgical instrument reprocessing.

speed

Faster reprocessing

Eliminated double scanning and accelerated the whole workflow.

eco

Paperless & sustainable

A fully electronic workflow - better for teams and the planet.
